The origins of Xi Engineering Consultants go back to 2001 when Managing Director, Mark–Paul Buckingham started providing innovative solutions to vibration issues as part of his PhD studies in Edinburgh, Scotland. This led to the formation of Reactec Ltd, who developed the award winning and now industry-leading HAVmeter. Reactec became globally renowned for their expertise in the diagnosis and removal of existing and potential vibration issues.

The Board of Reactec recognised the capability, patented intellectual property and growing demand for services that had been developed beyond the HAVmeter business and, in order to broaden the company’s reach, formed Xi. With a new Board and a fresh capital injection, Xi is now structured to provide dynamic modeling and analysis across an increased portfolio of markets solving a wide range of vibration related issues. Our expertise has become particularly relevant in the growing Renewables sector.

Xi’s experience reaches across many sectors and types of problem, yet one thing remains constant; Xi don’t just identify and measure the vibration problem, we solve it using a meticulous approach that brings together engineering, scientific and geophysical expertise. If any project carries any significant risk of vibration–induced fatigue, or noise, or operating restrictions that may ultimately limit economic return, we are on hand with the dynamic analysis to provide a bespoke solution.
